Xsite Pro Web Design Software
XSite Pro (New Version just released!) is designed to make building professional looking websites easy and straightforward. In fact my website www.AboutGuitarAmps.com was built using XSite Pro 2.
The original version of XSite Pro was great, but the latest version includes some amazing time saving features – for instance, ‘right click’ on your web page and from the drop down window you can now insert, images, Audio and Video with customisable skins, RSS feeds, Forms, Site Search and links to any page on or off your site. You can even add PayPal buttons, Google Adsense and Amazon links from the ‘Insert Advertising’ option. There are various ‘Tabs’ that can be selected to change page settings such as page title, keywords, add to navigation. There’s a design view (WYSIWYG), a HTML view, and also a page analysis view which advises on how you can optimise your page for the search engines. All this is normally very time consuming and can be very technical, but with XSite Pro 2 it’s easy for anyone to do.
There’s also an ‘Other Tab’ which has a huge array of additional facilities. – See the Screen shot below.
XSite Pro 2 is able to easily add elements to your site that would otherwise be incredibly time consuming.

There’s a new feature, which allows you to choose either dynamic or static navigation menu structures that can be customised with your own colour schemes etc. This is great and I used this to give the navigation menu on my own site a fresh new look just the other day, and it only took a few minutes to do.

What if you wanted to add an advert, or change the navigation in the side bar, footer, or header for instance. You would normally have to edit every page and upload all the changes to your server manually. Well XSite Pro 2 makes this really easy. Just edit or add your advert (or what ever it might be), click save, and XSite Pro 2 changes the site globally for you so all you have to do is click ‘Publish’ and let the software do the work for you. You can even change the total layout of your site – add an additional side bar for instance and change the width of each part of my page to create the look I wanted. I did this with my about-guitar-amps website and it was very easy.
I have created websites using Dreamweaver, hand coded a site (although not for a very long time!) and used WordPress (this site was created using WordPress and the Thesis Theme) but I have to say XSite Pro is by far the easiest way to create a website from scratch and also to maintain your site which is extremely important.
XSite Pro is Windows operating system only so for the Mac users out there it’s not going to work, plus of course you are limited to working from your own PC – it’s not an ‘Online’ system like WordPress, Blogger and Posterous etc. I must admit I quite like the facility to access a website from anywhere with any Windows PC or Mac, but if that’s not an issue for you then XSite Pro 2 is Website Design Software I can honestly recommend.
