The Audio Transfer Process |

Converting to Digital |
![]() |
When
working with vinyl and 78's the first part of the process is to clean
them thoroughly. |
Audio Restoration |
|
The
audio restoration process consists of samples of audio being taken by
professional restoration software, and careful comparisons between the
original and 'clean' audio made.
The amount of unwanted noise, clicks and pops removed are monitored to make sure the original material is not affected. |

It is important not to 'over restore' which can happen with even the most sophisticated software and hardware. This only results in the feel and character of the original material being lost and can introduce strange and unpleasant 'digital' noise. When
all settings have been optimized, the restoration system runs in real-time.
The recording is monitored and any noises that 'get through' which are
above that which the system is 'set up' to remove (so over restoration
is not applied), electronic markers are placed at these positions and
are manually removed later. The result is a clean sounding, high resolution version of the original. Unwanted noises can also be removed from live recordings - see the listen to the difference page |
Write to CD |
![]() |
Writing audio to CD is common place now, but only by using quality software, hardware and CDR's can you be sure of consistent results. Not all CD hardware and software copy as precisely as they should, so error correction built into all CD equipment works harder as a result, which will affect the sound quality. |

|
Our software takes your new 'clean' audio file, which is in a very high resolution format, converts it to CD quality and produces your copy ready for you to enjoy |
