Welcome to my music page.
Here are links to various pieces of music I have composed since I first purchased
Cubasis, and Cubase. I've
had great fun producing music and converting them into MP3 format for you to listen
to. All MP3's are set up to stream
so the large file sizes shouldn't be too much of a problem.
The
music links on the left are higher quality and are
suitable for broadband Internet users, while the links on the right are lower
quality and are for dial up users.
Hope
you enjoy listening. Constructive feedback welcome. Thanks.
Alternative This
music was written for my Cubase Intermediate College Course. It includes various
intruments produced by Roland XV2020 and three guitar parts, one electric and
two acoustic.
Good Night Han Thissongdidn't have a title until it was
just about finished. I was trying to think of a title when Han (Hannah) came in
to say 'good night'. You will notice from the piano playing in the background
which is repeated, the rhythm sounded like 'good night Han'. As we usually have
to say 'goodnight Han' quite a few times before she eventually goes to bed, the
title seemed quite appropriate! (not that she thinks so!)
Reggae I was at a concert and waiting for the band to come on, and
playing in the background was some reggae - by Ernest Ranglan as I found out later.
It was inspiring stuff, so I tracked down his latest CD and listened to how his
music was 'constructed'. It's a short piece of music which has been heavily
processed to produce an old tinny record sound complete with clicks and crackles
(supplied by the 'Grunge' effect in Cubase). It also includes me playing the classical
guitar processed to sound like a janglely electric. I had some fun with the effects
on this one. This is the result of my efforts.
Slow Day I'll try a classical piece I thought - well it didn't really
work. I quite like the end result, but I'm not sure what category you would put
this one in. See what you think.
Faaj Faaj
is a strange name, but stands for First Attempt At Jazz.
It's also the longest piece so far. It took a long time to produce as it was only
about the second piece of music I attempted after buying Cubasis.
Three Four Time
for a time signature change. Into the realms of 3/4. I was quite pleased with
this one even if it does sound as though it out to be played in a supermarket!
