| This is a one minute sample of a Charlie Kunz 78 rpm record bought from a market for 50 pence. It was split from the outside edge to the centre, and has some very loud 'pops' half way through. | |||
| This is the same clip after restoration. Not only is it a much cleaner sound but the clip is also louder, yet they were both normalized to the same level. This is due to the restoration process. | |||
| My thanks to Ron Burnett (Trombone) for this clip. It's from a recording he made in Leeds in 1959 of his band called The Unity Jazz Band and taken from an his original vinyl. It's a 40 second burst of Jazz called 'Shine' and it's pretty noisy. | |||
| Here is the same clip after restoration and sounds great. | |||
| The following clip demonstrates how unwanted noises can be removed from Live Recordings | |||
| This
clip is a 'Live' recording of a classical guitar which has a noise of someone
accidently hitting a tambourine.
'see' the noise on a spectrogram.

| This
is the same clip above but with the tambourine noise removed. Click here to see the spectrogram after the noise has been removed.
