have listened with critical ears and can spot the 'groove wear' you mention.
I wouldn't want it too perfect so I am putting that down to atmosphere.
Generally I can hear more of the music that I think I ever did on the original

there is a service new to York in the restoration and transfer of battered
old recordings. My treasured old LP from 1959, long unplayable due to
excess surface noise, is now restored to its pristine state on CD by SoundAbout.net.....
