there is a service new to York in the restoration and transfer of battered old
recordings. My treasured old LP from 1959, long unplayable due to excess surface
noise, is now restored to its pristine state on CD by SoundAbout.net..... Jazz

given the condition of the original "78". It was damaged at it's first time of
playing on a radiogramme which had too heavy an arm and a steel needle. So to
hear the recording of my voice after a lapse of over forty years, was quite an
